Pupil Support Manager

Who is our pupil support manager?

Laura Nobbs is our pupil support manager and she works with children across the school in a number of ways including mentoring, small group work and in class support. She is also able to work with parents and carers.

 

What is a pupil support manager?

A pupil support manager is a specialist teaching assistant with a wealth of experience of working with children. Laura has training in a wide range of areas that may affect a family and a child’s well being. The aim is to remove the barriers to learning and to have happy children in school and at home.We will help children learn to understand their emotions and respect the feelings of those around them. We can provide time and space for pupils to think about their personal circumstances and how they can manage them. Laura is trained as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA). This means that she has been trained by and is supervised by educational psychologists from the local authority. 

 

What can the pupil support manager help with?

Loss and bereavement, support through a serious illness, self-esteem, social skills, emotions, friendship issues, relationships, anger management, behaviour, anxiety, bullying, conflict, relaxation techniques separation (including divorce). If you are having any family difficulties please do come and see us. We are here to help and are able to bring in support from other agencies as required.
